Glimpses of another world. Visions of a bloodbath…

In the aftermath of a shocking murder, Nick and Juliet handle their lives in almost opposite ways. Everything is finally on the up for Nick, now that he has full-time work, stronger relationships, and even a girlfriend. So when a romantic weekend away turns into a bloodbath, he's left disillusioned... and with the fear that someone is targeting him.

For Juliet, the things she has witnessed still haunt her, and the deceit she has suffered feels fresh. Struggling to keep her life in order, she attempts to regain confidence by learning to control her ability. Not only that, she tries out something she has avoided for a long time. Dating.

But neither Nick nor Juliet can forget what they experienced together, what they glimpsed of the Otherworld. And as events unfold, it becomes apparent that the Otherworld hasn't forgotten them either...

This second book in the series was a great addition to the first. It's always a pleasure to see characters evolve rather than remain stagnant and in this book most of the characters did just that. Granted, I was quite surprised with the way Juliet was living her life in this book considering how confident and self-assured she was in book 1 but as the book went on, she started getting her old confidence back and yet kept the lessons she learned from those around her which I liked. In this installment there was of course another antagonistic character and if anything, he was even more deplorable and wretched than Aldrich had been in the first book, A Death Displaced. I have a few suspicions about a couple of the characters that hopefully will get answered one way or the other in the next installment which I can't wait for so I won't talk about those here as it might ruin the book for some of you or lead you in the wrong direction in case I'm mistaken but just having those suspicions makes for an added bit of intrigue for the next book. And hopefully we'll also get further progression with Nick & Juliet's "relationship"; that's moving a tad too slow but considering both are extremely stubborn I guess that also makes sense.

A Body Displaced Lansin Island Paranormal Mysteries Book 2 edition by Andrew Butcher Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I don't know why I like this series but I do.
Looking forward to the third installment. Maybe it's because the characters are believable and maybe a little innocent. For whatever reason I'm there.
This book followed the charachers through their sepatate obstacles, frustrations, sorrows and fears to make them even more unforgettable than in the first story. I was very sad when I got to the end and knew I would have to wait to read more about them and their challenhes on Lansin Island. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys stories about supernatural beings and the spirit world!
Populated by quirky characters plagued by the sudden appearance of paranormal powers, this second novel in the series moves slowly. Not as intriguing as the first in the series, the plot seems to repeat that in the first.
Fun series ..interesting. I would recommend all three of them.
This was a very complicated story with various side stories that are linked together . It was hard for me to understand the mixture of humans and underworlds and spirit world intertwined together. I did not understand the way it ended but I guess the next book will explain it, at least I hope so.
Are you like me and find so many books have the same subjects that you have read many times, just in different words?
Well you are in for a surprise! Andrew Butcher's books are different. I totally enjoyed this book. I won't give anything away about the "Lansin Island" books except Read Them!!!
Other reviewers have gone over the story, so allow me to be a little more "generic"..
A Body Displaced is another great book by Andrew Butcher. Andrew is very good at drawing you into his writing, letting you get to know the characters, and making you care about them. I was anxiously awaiting the 2nd book, as I really wanted to know what was happening with Nick and Juliet, Tom and Tommy, et al. I was thrilled when Andrew asked me to read an Advanced Copy.
The 1st Chapter was amazing. Perfect combination of new and old. I sometimes have trouble jumping into a new book because my head is still stuck in the "World" of the last book, but A Body Displaced's 1st chapter did a great job of refreshing my memory and getting me back into this "world".
Without giving too much away, I think Urban Fantasy readers who didn't get "enough" from the 1st book, will love the 2nd. Andrew "eases" you into the "other world", rather than dropping you into a world where the paranormal already exists, and is well known. You get to discover that other world, as the characters do, which is a blast!
If you read the first book and were left wanting more, and urge you to check out the 2nd book, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
